His Father's Heart Ministries

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor.  He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed."

(Isaiah 61:1)

Men's Group Tuesday, 7-9pm

Houston's First Baptist Church has been ministering to the people of the Houston area for over 160 years. Members helped pioneer Baylor University, the Star of Hope Mission, and the Baptist (Memorial) Hospital system and School of Nursing. Today, twenty-three missions and ministry points are sponsored, touching a wide variety of language groups and
social needs.

  • HFBC feed 4,000 families, 15,000 individuals-mostly single women with children.
  • Serve 44 Ministry Sites-starting new churches, assisting transitioning in churches, and developing preaching points.
  • Coordinate Five Mission Centers-serving multiple-ethnic churches, Food Pantry, clothes and furniture distribution, teaching English, Kid's Club, and providing assistance.
  • The Missions Training Center provides space for probation officers to see people who live in this neighborhood. This will give us a great opportunity to minister to them by telling them the Good News and inviting them to church.

Men's Group Thursdays, 7-9pm

Grace Bible Church exists to glorify God by making disciples who transform the world.
We take seriously the privilege and commission of every Christian to make disciples (Matt. 28:18-20). In order to do that, GBC is committed to equipping believers to understand who they are in Christ so that they can in turn minister to the community and the world.

Men's Group Thursdays, 7-9pm

Inner City Youth and The Refuge Community Development Center have both brought hope and change to Houston's beleaguered Third Ward. The testimonies of hundreds of youths, adults and families ring out from the streets that these two ministries have made a profound impact on the surrounding community. In late 2005, the boards of both organizations
recognized that, working together, they could forge an even brighter future for this underserved area. While one has traditionally focused on serving youth, and the other on adults and single parents, together they could realize the potential of a truly family-focused organization making an exponentially greater difference in the community.

Thus begins The Forge, combining the passion and expertise of these two ministries' founders, staffs and boards. The exciting results are evident at the new facilities, located at 3150 Yellowstone Boulevard. For inquiries into The Forge for Families and to find out how your tax-deductible contribution could be used to help forge a future for inner city families, contact Quincy Chapman at 713 664.5054.
