His Father's Heart Ministries

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor.  He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed."

His Father's Heart Ministries Mission

The mission of His Father’s Heart Ministries is to reach out to our brothers and sisters who are brokenhearted. We help ex-offenders break their cycles of destructive behavior. Our goal is to reach the greatest number of ex-offenders who are at risk for re-arrest, drug abuse, spousal abuse, and other common issues faced by this population.

Our ministries are located in the neighborhoods in which they live for accessibility, convenience and transportation as these are important issues for those we serve. His Father’s Heart Ministries currently works with over 350 men and women each month at our eight locations and we expect to drastically increase clients as we work through this year. For each and every person we minister to we affect the lives of at least three other people – a spouse, a child, a parent, a neighbor or even an employer. In churches around Houston, we’ve created a relaxed, coffeehouse setting for small group meetings that include teaching, sharing, and prayer. We walk beside those who come to us, offering free faith-based counseling and address the challenges of reentry. Through open and honest conversation we address the issues that often terminate their freedom.

Each year thirty percent of the prisoners in the State of Texas are released in Harris County, (Houston) with no safety net or service to support their transition. His Father’s Heart Ministries embraces these individuals and provides all aspects of transitional services either through our own programs or through one of our strategic partners. Like the work of COMEX, Inc., we work to meet the social needs of our community. Through individual and group counseling we restore the of dignity of the individual, bringing out the creative potential that God has given them and allows it to come shining through. His Father’s Heart Ministry is uniquely qualified with certified counselors, ministers and former prison staff—to offer support, assistance and counseling for as long as services are needed. While our outreach to a marginalized group of society is based on Christian ideals, the outcome of our actions is a common good: rehabilitated and counseled individuals and their families; who are less likely to return to crime and prison; and a correlated positive economic impact for the community.
